Wilmington Sharks Host Craft Beer Fest

Wilmington, NC; April 26, 2011 - The Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League (CPL) announced today that they in conjunction with Tryon Distributing and Phi Kappa Alpha will be hosting the 1st Annual Wilmington Sharks Craft Beer Fest.

Local craft breweries from around the State of North Carolina will be participating in the event, which will take place on Saturday, May 21, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the "Shark Tank".

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Monday, May 2 for $15 prior to the event and $20 at the gate with tickets only being available for purchase through www.wilmingtontickets.com. Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards Cape Fear Center for Inquiry.

The starting line-up for this event will include; Boone Brewing Company, Asheville NC, Duck Rabbit Brewery 'Dark Beer Specialists' out of Farmville, NC, Mother Earth Brewing Company, Kinston NC featuring the first LEED certified Brewery in NC,

Highland Brewing Company, Asheville NC, brewing quality brews over for over 15 years, and Craggie Brewing Co., whose owner Bill Drew worked as Brewmaster for Highland brewing Co and now has his own acclaimed brewery. He supports the local community and charities -encouraging the green/local movement.

The Wilmington Sharks are members of Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 15th season, The Coastal Plain League features 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer. The CPL has had over 800 alumni drafted and 40 alums make their Major League debut thus far.
