Wilmington Sea Dawgs News Release

The Wilmington Sea Dawgs of the newly formed Continental Basketball League are pleased to announce Dale Kuhl will return to the Sea Dawgs as their head coach. Owner Pete Gratale made the announcement on Friday.

This is Kuhl's second year as head coach for the Sea Dawgs. Last year in the PBL, Kuhl led the team to a 15-5 record and a berth in the PBL playoffs.

Coach Kuhl is a native of Milan, Ohio. He graduated from Tiffin University in 1992 with a degree in Sports Management. At the age of 21, Kuhl was hired as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at West Liberty State College in West Liberty, WV. The following year West Liberty named Kuhl as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Academic Advisor, where he would serve until 1998.

Kuhl was hired by the University of South Carolina-Spartanburg as the Men's Assistant Basketball Coach and Academic Coordinator. He held this position until moving to Spartanburg Methodist College as the Men's Head Basketball Coach in 2002. In addition to his Sports Management degree from Tiffin University, Kuhl earned his Masters Degree in Physical Education from West Virginia University in 1996. Dale has extensive experience in the sports field and holds an accomplished basketball background.

Of Coach Kuhl's hiring, Owner Pete Gratale says, "We are thrilled to have Coach Kuhl back at the helm this season for the Sea Dawgs. Our 15-5 record last year is indicative of the way our players relate to Dale and his system. We know with Dale as coach, we can only get better as a team and organization."
