Will Pettis Named U.S. Army Ironman of the Week

NEW YORK – Dallas Desperados wide receiver/defensive back WILL PETTIS has been named U.S. Army Ironman of the Week for Week 4 of the 2005 season.

Pettis (6-0, 200, Midwestern State) led the Eastern Division-leading Dallas Desperados (3-1) in Thursday's 42-28 victory over the previously-unbeaten Orlando Predators (3-1). On offense, the All-Ironman performer hauled in three receptions for 17 yards and two touchdowns. On special teams, he returned four kickoffs for 83 yards. Defensively, he finished second on the team with 5.0 total tackles (all solo), a single-game career-high three pass breakups and a fourth quarter interception to preserve the victory. This marks the first time that the third-year veteran has earned an AFL weekly honor.
