Wed., May 6 - Penguins 3 at MANCHESTER 4 (3OT)

The best-of-seven series started off with high drama as the two teams battled past two overtimes before Zach O'Brien ended it for Manchester, 4-3, at 4:13 of the third extra session. Conor Sheary registered a goal and an assist to help the Penguins rally from three one-goal deficits. Matt Murray had a team playoff-best 52 saves for W-B/Scranton in the loss.

Thu., May 7 - Penguins 2 at MANCHESTER 5

Jordan Weal and Brian O'Neill each gathered two goals and an assist to lead the Monarchs to a 5-2 win over the Penguins at Verizon Wireless Arena and a 2-0 lead in the second-round series. The contest was tied 2-2 in the second period before Weal gave Manchester the edge for good with 2:57 remaining until the intermission. Conor Sheary and Dominik Uher found the back of the net for W-B/Scranton.

Sat., May 9 - PENGUINS 2 vs. Manchester 1

W-B/Scranton was able to hold the Monarchs offense at bay and scored a 2-1 victory in Game 3 to cut into Manchester's lead in the Eastern Conference Semifinal. Bryan Rust gave the Penguins their first lead of the series at 6:22 of the first period. Penguins captain Tom Kostopoulos converted on the power play with 6:33 left until the second intermission for the eventual game-winner. Penguins goalie Matt Murray gathered his fourth win of the postseason, stopping 29-of-30.

Mon., May 11 - PENGUINS 2 vs. Manchester 5

Jordan Weal led the offensive charge for the Monarchs once again with his first pro playoff hat trick as Manchester took a commanding 3-1 series lead with a 5-2 win at Mohegan Sun Arena. Weal struck just 42 seconds into the contest to spark a string of a five consecutive goals netted by the Monarchs. Bryan Rust and Tom Kostopoulos both lit the lamp over a span of 37 seconds in the third, but the Penguins would be unable to cut further into Manchester's lead.

Tue., May 12 - PENGUINS 1 vs. Manchester 2

For the third time in this series, the Penguins found themselves trailing within the first three minutes of the game and were never able to catch up in a 2-1 loss that eliminated W-B/Scranton from postseason contention. Adrian Kempe put Manchester ahead 2:01 into the match and Nick Shore later doubled the lead with five minutes to go in the opening frame. W-B/Scranton halved Manchester's lead on Conor Sheary's goal coming with 77 seconds left in the second period, but could not collect the equalizer before time expired.

Ice Chips

- W-B/Scranton earned a berth in the Calder Cup Playoffs for the 14th time in the 16-year history of the team and reached the postseason for a 13th straight year - the longest current active mark in the American Hockey League.

- The Penguins are the only team in the AHL to reach the second round in each of the last five seasons.

- With his tally in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal versus Manchester, captain Tom Kostopoulos became the Penguins' all-time leader with 18 career playoff goals.

- Kostopoulos also added to his franchise-leading totals in the playoffs in games played (76), assists (35) and points (53).

- Conor Sheary led the Penguins during the postseason in goals (5), assists (7), points (12), power play assists (4) and power play points (6).

- Dating back to last postseason, Sheary has collected 23 points (11G-12A) in 23 career playoff appearances for the Penguins.

- The Penguins were 4-0 in the postseason when scoring first.

- W-B/Scranton has an all-time playoff record of 96-91.
