Wilderness Sweep Chippewa Steel for 5th Consecutive Win

CLOQUET, MN - The Minnesota Wilderness swept the Chippewa Steel in their November 9th series. The Wilderness traveled to Chippewa Falls for the first match of the weekend, winning 2-1. #19 Jake Herter (Hermantown) put the first goal in, assisted by Cloquet's #14 Dylan Johnson. The game-winning goal came from Lumberjack Alum, #14 Dylan Johnson, assisted by assistant captain #21 Ash Altmann and #18 Oula Kuure.

The following day, Chippewa traveled to Northwoods Credit Union Arena to face off on Wilderness home ice. #10 Nick Portz put the first goal of the night, assisted by #7 Aaron Myers. #18 Oula Kuure also found the back of the net in the first period, assisted by #4 Jesper Wikstrom and #17 Gino Lucia.

Chippewa Steel pulled their goalie at the end of the third period in an attempt to tie the game, but #16 Isaac Kobienia took advantage, sinking an open-netter with just 1 second to go in regulation. Wilderness topped the Chippewa Steel 3-1.

This is the fifth win in a row for the Wilderness. The team swept the Brookings Blizzard at their November 9th & 10th series and topped the Bismarck Bobcats on November 3rd.

The Wilderness Face the Minnesota Magicians on Wednesday, Nov 21st at 7 pm.
