
Wilderness Suffer Two Tough Loses to Coulee Region

Friday night the Wilderness hosted Coulee Region at Northwoods Credit Union Arena. Coulee's Blake Kelley scored first (8:50). Answering back for the Wilderness was Eric Brenk (17:18) assisted by Billy Exell and Jesse Kessler. To finish out the first period Coulee scored again by Mac Jansen (19:28). Jaycob McCombs scored in the second period (19:20) to tie the game at 2 heading into the third. Assisting McCombs goal was Darian Romanko and Jakob Romo. James McGing of the Chill started the third period scoring (1:25) to put Coulee ahead. Nolan Culver of the Wilderness scored (1:38) to tie the game back up at 3. Culver's goal was assisted by Terry Leabo. The back and forth scoring on the night ended when James McGing added his second goal of the night (4:30) and putting Coulee Region on top. Wilderness lose 4-3.
Saturday the teams traveled to Onalaska, WI to play in Coulee's home arena the Omni Center. Jakob Romo started off the game strong scoring in the first period (3:01) assisted by Jaycob McCombs. Coulee Region scored in the second period on a power play (9:37) by Eddie Matshushima. The third period started with the game tied 1-1. Blake Kelley of the Chill scored unassisted (11:05). Darian Romanko scored to tie the game back up assisted by Eric Brenk (17:12). Regulation ended in a tie (2-2) and headed to a 5 minute overtime which also saw no addition scoring. Then it went to a lengthy 11 person shootout, where Coulee came on top winning 3-2. ÃâÃÂ
