Minnesota Wilderness News Release
CLOQUET, MN - Minnesota Wilderness forward Garrett Worth has announced his commitment to play Division I hockey at Long Island University. Worth, the Duluth East Greyhound alum, made appearances with the Wilderness in the 2017-2018 and second half of the 2019-2020 season. Before the season was cut short, Worth put up 14 goals and 25 points. Worth will join the LIU Sharks for the 2020-2021 season.
Head Coach Jon Vaillancourt commented on the recent commitment, "Garrett has faced a lot of adversity the last two season of junior hockey, but over this past split season with Des Moine of the USHL and our program, I have seen tremendous growth in him. Garrett possesses superb skill and offensive ability and when given the opportunity, will more than likely put pucks in the back of the net. I knew before he joined our club that he was a gifted player; I am extremely proud of the growth he has made to develop his game for the Division I level. Long Island is getting an excellent student of the game and very mature young man. I speak for the Wilderness program when I say that we are excited to watch him take these next steps in his hockey career and wish him the best next season in Long Island. "
Worth will join the Sharks for the 2020-2021 season.
