Steel Announce Fall AAA Program

June 23, 2020 - North American Hockey League (NAHL) - Chippewa Steel News Release

Chippewa Falls, WI - The Chippewa Steel, a proud member of the North American Hockey League, are excited to announce the Jr. Steel AAA program. The program will include a U18 and a U16 team that will run from late-August through mid-October.

The Jr. Steel provides an opportunity for athletes to be trained by the Chippewa staff via on-ice practice sessions and video feedback. This will give athletes the opportunity to learn what it takes to play junior hockey.

Our teams will compete in the NAPHL Fall League that competes against other top NAHL sponsored AAA teams at three NAHL sponsored events taking place in September and October. These events provide our athletes direct exposure to junior, college and elite full season AAA programs.

"We are very excited to announce the formation of our Jr. Steel AAA program and the announcement we are joining the NAPHL Fall League. This opportunity will give our athletes an opportunity to train with the best players under direction of our experienced staff. It also gives them a high level of direct exposure to USHL, NAHL, NA3HL and NCAA programs via the NAHL/NAPHL showcases that we participate in. Last year alone the NAHL Showcase had over 330 professional, college and junior scouts attend. The Jr. Steel adds to our organization's ladder of development from AAA to New Ulm in the NA3HL and Chippewa in the NAHL. I am looking forward to working with our players and promoting them onto the next level of hockey," said Chippewa Steel Director of Hockey Operations Cory Hunt.

Tryouts will be held in late July at the Chippewa Area Ice Arena in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Cost to tryout will be $20. If you would like to register for the Jr. Steel AAA tryouts, please contact Steel Director of Hockey Operations Cory Hunt at [email protected]
