Wildcatters' Snowden Named CCM TACKS ECHL Player Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Texas right wing John Snowden is the CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for April. Snowden scored 10 goals, five power-play goals, two game-winning goals and 14 points in six games in April. After scoring two points (1g-1a) in a 6-5 loss to Pensacola on April 1, the 23-year-old Snowden scored four goals and had an assist in an 8-0 win against Louisiana on April 2. He scored five points (3g-2a) again on April 8 in an 8-4 win against Louisiana and ended the season with two goals at Louisiana on April 9. He scored 17 goals in his last 13 games and had multiple-point games in eight of the Wildcatters' last 16 games. For the season he had eight multiple-goal games and 14 multiple-point games.

Snowden ranked third in the ECHL with a career high and team record 37 goals. He had a team-leading 18 power-play goals and 62 points and was second on the team with 25 assists in 71 games.

In his first professional season with Texas in 2003-04, Snowden played in the ECHL All-Star Game and scored 43 points (22g-21a) in 72 games, tying for the team lead in goals and finishing second in scoring. The Snohomish, Wash. native played three years in the United States Hockey League with Lincoln, finishing his career with 143 points (79g-64a) and 285 penalty minutes in 167 regular season games and 20 points (8g-12a) and 29 penalty minutes in 25 playoff games. He had four points (2g-2a) and 25 penalty minutes in 20 games with the United States Junior National Team in 1999-2000.
