
Wildcatters' Proulx Named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week

Princeton, NJ (November 28, 2006) Texas Wildcatters center Olivier Proulx was named the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 20-26, 2006.In his fourth professional season, the 24-year-old had eight points (4g-4a) and a plus-minus rating of +5 while helping the Wildcatters go 4-0-0 on the road to move into first place in the South Division and the American Conference with 24 points and an 11-2-2 record. Proulx is the second Wildcatter to be named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week this season. Kevin Baker received the honor for the week of Oct. 30-Nov.5.
Proulx scored a goal in each of the four games to increase his goal-scoring streak to seven games (7g) which is the longest streak in the ECHL since 2005 when Brian McCullough of Peoria scored a goal in seven straight games (7g) from Feb. 18-Mar. 6. The 5-foot-9 and 188-pound Proulx scored three points (1g-2a) and assisted on the game-winning goal in each of his last two games, a 5-4 win at South Carolina on Saturday and in a 5-2 win at Augusta on Sunday.
He has an eight-game scoring streak (7g-7a) that includes three games with a goal and two assists, and he is fifth on the team with seven goals and tied for fifth with 16 points in 14 games.
Proulx began his professional career in 2003-04 and had 53 points (20g-33a) and 123 penalty minutes in 67 games for Dayton of the ECHL while also playing in the AHL where he had two penalty minutes in seven games with Lowell. He played each of the past two seasons in the United Hockey League where he had 134 points (45g-89a) and 380 penalty minutes in 151 regular season games and seven points (3g-4a) and 32 penalty minutes in 13 playoff games with Rockford.
On behalf of Olivier Proulx, a case of pucks will be donated to a Beaumont area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 15,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
