Wildcats Release Final Roster

South Georgia Wildcats News Release


ALBANY, GA- South Georgia Wildcats head coach, Donnie Davis, announced today the final roster for the Wildcats opening night game on April 8.

Wildcats quarterbacks are Brian Baker and Dondrial Pinkins. Baker is entering his second season in the arenafootball2 league and Pinkins is entering his first season after playing four years at the University of South Carolina.

Rodney Woodham will serve as the Wildcats offensive specialist and arenafootball2 veteran, Chris McKinney, could see some action at offensive specialist but will begin the season at the wide receiver/linebacker position. Tim Robinson and Curtis Blake will also see action at WR/LB.

Elliott Burkes, Darryl Johnson and Ray Jackson are the Wildcats wide receivers/defensive backs. Burkes totaled 37.5 tackles last season with the ‘Cats and Jackson totaled over 1,200 receiving yards during two seasons at Albany State University.

At the fullback/linebackers position are Jason Null, Antonio Leroy and James Harris. Null and Leroy are returning from last season's team and Harris is a newcomer to the Wildcats squad.

James McCoy and Blake Saunders are the defensive specialist for the ‘Cats. Both players are entering their first season in arenafootball.

Former Georgia Tech kicker, Dan Burnett, will serve as the Wildcats kicker for extra points, field goals and kickoffs.

Eric Davis will lead the offensive/defensive linemen for the Wildcats. Joining Davis on the line is Elliott Bond, Jarvis Davis, Tracy Flounoy, Rodney Magwood, Brent Sanders and Brian Smith.

The Arena Football League is entering its 20th season and the South Georgia Wildcats are entering their second season in Albany, GA. The Wildcats will kickoff the 2006 season against Tennessee Valley Vipers on Saturday, April 8th on Cooper Tire Field at the Albany Civic Center.
