Wildcats Ranked Number One Team In Power Rankings

December 20, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
San Diego Wildcats News Release

San Diego, CA - On December 18,2007 the ABA released its power rankings and the San Diego Wildcats were ranked number one. The San Diego Wildcats, who have a convincing record of (13-1), are finally getting the recognition they deserve for defeating countless teams in their conference. The number one power ranking confirms that the Wildcats are back with vengeance this season as they look to correct the mistakes they made last season in their second round playoff loss to the Beijing Aoshen Olympian.

Wildcats owner Anthony Lacey was ecstatic when he heard the news of the Wildcats ranking, " This is the first time in the history of professional basketball in San Diego that a team has held the number one ranking position in a league, I hope that San Diego will now embrace this team as one of their own like the Chargers and Padres". The San Diego Wildcats are a dynamic professional basketball team. The Wildcats active roster is packed with a talented group of basketball players. Guard, Cardell " Ballaholic" Butler, who basketball fans might know from And 1, leads the team in scoring this season. Butler is accompanied in the Wildcats backcourt with Prentice Harris, who this season has become the cross-over extraordinaire and three point threat, Michael McNair, who is always a crowd favorite with long range jumpers in his arsenal as well, Brian Graham, the Wildcats proclaimed dependable sixth man, and William Funn. The Wildcats frontcourt consists of former San Diego State University standout Jerome Habel, Leonard Mosley, the vivacious motivator, Greg Clark, the silent contributor, Jamal Kendrick jump-shot purist, Malcolm Battles, John Clark, and Marc Carter.

"The top four or five teams are very strong," stated Brad Hester, VP of Team Operations for the ABA. "It looks like it is going to go back and forth all season long. And there are other teams showing surprising strength. The competition is tough all around the league. The rankings:
