Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release
The Wichita Falls Wildcats have announced that goaltender Dan DiLeo has committed to play hockey for Cornell University. Cornell is currently the third ranked team in NCAA hockey.
"I am thrilled to death at the opportunity to play for the number three team in the country," said DiLeo. "This is a dream come true. The past three goalies from this school have gone to the NHL."
DiLeo, the St. Louis native joined the Wildcats in early January and has helped turn the team around. When he came to Wichita Falls the Wildcats were one game under .500 and out of playoff contention. He played his first 14 games as a Wildcat and has led them back into the playoff picture. He took full advantage of the opportunity to play everyday and has emerged as a leader on this team
"We are definitely excited to have a player attend not only one of the top hockey teams in the country, but one of the best college institutions are well," said Wildcats head coach Brian Meisner. "Dan is a hard working, competitive player who will do very well both athletically and academically."
