
Wild Win Fourth Straight Game

FRESNO, Calif. - The Wenatchee Wild extended itswinning streak to four games Friday night with a 3-1 victory over the FresnoMonsters at Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif. The win allowed Wenatchee to takeover sole possession of third place in the West Division.
Trace Redmond (McKinney, Texas) gave the Wild and early lead 3:56into the contest when he collected a rebound off of Matt Cope's (Lakewood, Colo.) shot and backhanded the puck overFresno goaltender Macauley Haight's right shoulder. Blake Saylor (Centennial, Colo.) also assisted on Redmond's fourthmarker of the season.
Chase Sisk tied up the contest,1-1, early in the second period when he knocked Jordan Haskell's pass into thecage from the slot. Jeffrey Pauluk also assisted. Wenatchee broke the tie with1:53 remaining before the second intermission when Chris Knudson (North Barrington, Ill.) scored on Shawn Pauly's (Bellingham, Wash.)one-timer feed from the blue line with heavy traffic in front of the net. Max McHugh (Edgewood, Wash.) picked upthe second assist on Knudson's second goal of the season.
The Wild went up by a pair ofmarkers 2:22 into the third stanza on JeradTafoya's (Highland Ranch, Colo.) power play goal, which he scored on awrist shot from the low inside corner of the near faceoff circle. Saylor andCope picked up their second assists of the game on the sequence. Goaltender Robert Nichols (Dallas, Texas) and theWild defense refused to allow the Monsters to get any closer through theremainder of the contest.
Nichols denied 20 of Fresno's 21shots to better his record to 11-1-3. Macauley made 21 saves on 24 shots. Wenatcheescored one man-advantage goal on six chances while Fresno went 0-for-6.
Cope and Saylor each recorded twoassists for the Wild. Redmond, Knudson and Tafoya scored the Wild's goals.
Wenatchee (17-9-4) will look forits second straight 2-game sweep Saturday against Fresno (14-10-8). Faceoff isset for 7:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on 560 AM KPQ. In addition,for a small fee, all of the Wild's games can be viewed live online at www.FASTHockey.com.
