The Wild are also hosting a canned food drive at the tryouts. The Eagle's Eye

With tryouts only 3 days away, I want to remind all players interested in trying out for the Wild, bring your "A" game. We are taking a real hard look at all the local players, more than ever this year. We had four players make the team from tryouts last year, Jared Solberg, Dominque Corbitt, Pierce Blewitt and Gabe Taylor all made the team and saw playing time, and all will re-sign for 2009. With a new league and new opportunities, the Alaska Wild have proved that we can be a stepping stone for players to reach the next level of football. Case in point: Demarcus James. James never played college football, excelled at the indoor level and received calls from 5 National Football League teams. Alaska players, this is your chance to reach 'the dance.'

TOYS FOR TOTS

The Alaska Wild want to help those children who need it most and are offering 15% off Wild merchandise to all those who donate a new or gently used toy for Toys For Tots this holiday season. Toys can be dropped off at the Alaska Wild office at 510 W. Tudor Rd. Ste. 2 in Anchorage.
