Wild Things Dance Tryouts Set

Lindsay Wray, Wichita Wild Things Director, has set the tryout date for the 2011 Wild Things dance team. The tryout will take place over two days on November 6 and 7 at Hartman Arena.

Starting at 2 PM on Saturday, November 6, dance team hopefuls can begin the registration process and they will take the field for their tryout at about 2:30. Dancers will learn a choreographed routine taught by nationally recognized dancer Jenni Croft. Croft has performed for the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Heat, and Phoenix Suns. Croft appeared on Season 11 of the TV show "The Bachelor" and is originally from Wichita.

The final phase of the tryout will occur at 2 PM on Sunday, November 7 at Hartman Arena. Prospective dancers will perform in front of a panel of judges. The tryout will conclude with the selection of the 2011 Wild Things dance team. The finals on Sunday will be open to the public.

Qualified candidates must comprise skills in hip-hop, stylized jazz, and pom along with the passion to entertain. Candidates must also be physically fit, a respected role model, and eager to participate in community and charity events. Dancers must be at least 18 years old. Although having a dance background is helpful, new or non-experienced dancers are encouraged to tryout as well.

Registration forms are available online at www.wichitawildfootball.com. There is a registration fee of $20. Registration will also be accepted on November 6 at 2 PM at Hartman Arena.
