Wild Solidify Offensive Line

February 9, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Wichita Wild News Release

The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) has most likely found the players that will start on the offensive line during the 2010 season. The Wild had previously announced the return of Fred Hicks and John Mobley to the squad in 2010. This week the Wind finalized the signings of two more linemen that have the talent to start for the Wild.

Jamaal Young entered the 2009 season as a starter for the Wild, but had his season cut short by an injury in the team's season opening game in Omaha. Young started all but three games in his four years of college. His final season at Alcorn State was in 2008, where he was named to the All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Team. Young allowed only one sack in his two seasons with the Braves.

Before attending Alcorn, Young started every game for two seasons at Coahoma Community College in Mississippi. In 2006, Young was named to the All-Region First Team. The Clarksdale, MS native was also named Offensive Lineman of the Year for the Tigers.

Richard Burch joins the Wild after spending 2009 with the RiverCity Rage of the IFL. With Burch as a starter, RiverCity advanced to the IFL Championship Game. In 2008, Burch served as a Graduate Assistant at Mississippi Valley State (MVSU). Burch wrapped up his collegiate playing career at MVSU in 2005, when MVSU recorded their first winning season in 9 years. Burch did not allow a sack and was named All-Conference and Black College All-American for his performance at left tackle for the Delta Devils.

Burch transferred to MVSU from Mississippi State. Burch started every game in 2004 and 2003 for the Bulldogs. As a true freshman in 2002, the Brandon, MS native started three games at Mississippi State.

The Wild open the 2010 season at home on Friday, February 26 at 7:05 PM. Single game tickets are currently on sale. Fans can purchase tickets by calling call the Hartman Arena Box Office at 316-927-3999 or going online to www.stage1tickets.com. Tickets start at just $5. The 2009 Wild finished with a 10-7 record and were crowned the Indoor Football League's Central Division Champions.
