
Wild Raises Over $21,000 for Wellness Place

WENATCHEE, Wash. - TheWenatchee Wild is pleased to announce that it raised more than $21,000 forWellness Place in Wenatchee during its second annual Pink at the Rink Weekendat the Town Toyota Center on Oct. 15-16. Wellness Place is the cancer supportarm of the North Central Washington Rural Health Foundation, which is fundedthrough donations.
"So many of us have been impacted by cancer in one way oranother," said Bill Stewart,Wenatchee Wild president and managing partner. "Wellness Place is a valuablepart of the Wenatchee Valley in our fight against cancer. The Wild is proud tosupport Wellness Place, and we look forward to our third annual Pink at theRink Weekend next season."
Wellness Place's mission is to provide information andcompassionate support to individuals and their families who are dealing withcancer. This is accomplished through support groups, fitness classes,education, travel and lodging assistance, etc. All of the money the Wilddonated to Wellness Place will stay in the Wenatchee Valley and go towardprograms for local cancer patients.
The Wild raised money for Wellness Place through a playerjersey auction, game fundraising (50/50 and Chuck-a-Puck), as well through Pinkat the Rink T-shirts sales.
The Wild also had help from its Pink at the Rink Sponsors -Ag Supply Co., Safeway and Wenatchee Valley Medical Center. Ag Supply presentedWellness Place with a $3,000 check during Pink at the Rink Weekend, which wasraised through donations at its stores. Safeway sold Pink at the Rink T-shirtsat its two local locations, and its employees helped with the Wild's 50/50 andChuck-a-Puck fundraisers. T-shirts were also sold at Wenatchee Valley MedicalCenter, and 600 Wenatchee Valley Medical Center employees and their familymembers were on hand for Pink at the Rink Weekend.
