Wild Rage by Dawson Creek, 8-3: Eight Players Net Goals for Wenatchee

DAWSON CREEK, British Columbia - Eight different playersnetted a goal Friday for the Wenatchee Wild in an 8-3 rout over the DawsonCreek Rage. The win was the Wild's second in as many nights over the Rage aftera 3-0 victory Thursday.

Wenatchee came out of the gate hard and was rewarded with anearly 3-0 lead. Defenseman Dylan Abood(Centennial, Colo.) drew first blood 72 seconds into the contest when he scoredon a one-timer from the top of the near circle on assists from Evan Schmidbauer (Surrey, BritishColumbia) and Kyle Vogel (Richland,Wash.). Tyler Rostenkowski (Bloomingdale,Ill.) made it 2-0 less than two minutes later when he scored a power-play goalon a slap shot from the middle of the blue line. Chris Knudson (North Barrington, Ill.) and Ben Carey (Centennial, Colo.) were credited with the assists while Matt Cope (Lakewood, Colo.) also playeda hand in the goal with a great screen.

The Wild went up 3-0 with 3:12 remaining in the first stanzaon an outstanding effort from JacobBarber (Dardenne Prairie, Mo.), who used a backhand-to-forehand move on ashort breakaway to light the lamp. Abood and Rostenkowski earned the helpers.Josh Hartley got the Rage on the scoreboard with 1:21 remaining before thefirst intermission to cut the Wild lead to 3-1. Dylan Rota picked up the loneassist.

Jade McMullen whittled the lead down to one goal early inthe second period on assists from Rota and Ryan Matthews, but that's as close asthe Rage would get as the Wild went on to outscore them 5-1 the rest of theway.

Blake Roubos (NiagaraFalls, Ontario) scored 8:42 into the second period on assists from Parker Johnson (Bloomington, Ill.) and Shawn Pauly (Bellingham, Wash.) to makethe score 4-2. Carey scored the Wild's second power-play marker of the contestwith 6:27 left in the second period when he tickled the twine on a wrister fromthe inside hash mark of the near circle. Cope and Brendan Vetter (North Fond du Lac, Wis.) assisted.

The Wild lit the lamp three more times in the third period. Max McHugh (Edgewood, Wash.) scored thefirst of those markers during a power play on assists from Barber and Jerad Tafoya (Highland Ranch, Colo.).

Chris Kerr (Penticton,British Columbia) scored his second short-handed marker of the series when herifled a top shelf wrister from the far faceoff dot after collecting a longpass from Knudson in the neutral zone. Vogel scored the Wild's eight and finalgoal of the game when he put back a rebound off of Trevor Stewart's (East Wenatchee, Wash.) slap shot from the point. Kyle Huson (Parker, Colo.) alsoassisted.

Tyson McCallum scored Dawson Creek's final goal with 56seconds left in the game. Troy Petrick and Matthews assisted.

Wild goalie GregLewis (Mars, Pa.), who was back in the lineup for the first time since Feb.14, made 29 saves on 32 shots to earn his 10th win of the season. PaulBourbeau and Edward Dyson combined to make 36 saves on 44 shots for DawsonCreek. The Wild scored four power-play goals while the Rage went 0-for-6.

Seventeen of the Wild's 18 skaters notched at least onepoint in the win. Abood, Barber, Carey, Rostenkowski and Vogel each scored agoal and an assist. Knudson notched a pair of assists. Matthews and Rota each recordedtwo assists for the Rage.
