Wild Pick up One Point: Carey Records 25th Goal

FRESNO, Calif. - The Wenatchee Wild picked up one pointSaturday in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Fresno Monsters at the Selland Arena inFresno, Calif.
Kyle Huson (Parker,Colo.) gave the Wild the lead less than two minutes into the first period whenhe notched his second goal of the season from the backdoor on a pass from Ben Carey (Centennial, Colo.) after hevacated his blue line spot. Matt Cope(Lakewood, Colo.) also assisted.
Fresno tied up the contest, 1-1, with 2:48 remaining beforethe first intermission on a one-timer by Filip Winkler from the near circle.Brendan Bradley set up the goal with a backhand pass from the far wall afterthe Wild turned the puck over in the neutral zone.
The Wild reclaimed the lead, 2-1, with 2:06 left in thesecond period when Carey scored a power-play marker on a rebound off of Tyler Rostenkowski's (Bloomingdale,Ill.) point shot. Trace Redmond(McKinney, Texas) picked up the second assist on what was Carey's 25thgoal of the season.
Monster forward Luke Sandler scored moments after a faceoffin the Wild zone 3:10 into the third period to tie up the game, 2-2. Bradleywent on to win the game for the Monsters 75 seconds into overtime when he litthe lamp after going wide on a rush into the Wild zone. Mikhail Bushinski andJesse Durfee earned the assists.
Greg Lewis (Mars,Pa.) made 14 saves on 17 shots. Perhaps his toughest stop of the game came inthe second period when he denied Karl Andersen on a breakaway with his rightpad, which kept the contest tied at 1-1. Tomas Sholl made 22 saves on 24 shotsfor the Monsters.
Carey's second-period power-play goal was the onlyman-advantage marker of the contest. The Wild went 1-for-2 on the power playwhile the Monsters were 0-for-2.
Carey paced Wenatchee with a goal and an assist. Bradleyscored the game-winner for the Monsters and set up their first-period goal.
