Wenatchee Wild News Release
The Wenatchee Wild are back in the Town Toyota Center for their first home series in two weeks and their opponents this weekend are the Topeka RoadRunners. These two organizations have formed quite the rivalry over the season, and any game they meet opposite of the face off circle is one that is full of fire, unpredictable, and undeniably intense. It was a very tight battle between these two benches, and in the end, the RoadRunners would take home the first two points with a 2-1 win.
JB Baker opened the scoring game up with his goal one minute and forty seven seconds into the first period. Baker would receive help from team mate Sly Sutter. The last goal of the frame would be scored by Tyler Irvine. Irvine netted his unassisted power play empty net goal eleven minutes and fifty six seconds after the game's initial puck drop.
The last goal of the game would be scored thirty nine seconds into the second period by August Von Ungern-Sternberg. Wenatchee's lone goal would go unassisted.
At the end of the night, the Wild would out shoot Topeka 31-26 and take four infractions. Penalties went to Mike Coyne (Elbowing), Chris Jones (Elbowing), Ryan Chiasson (Hooking), and Tyler Rockweel (Tripping).
Both Zach Quinn and Michael Bullion were in the Wild's cage tonight, and collectively, 24 shots were stopped. Quinn was responsible for 7 of these saves whereas Bullion had the remaining 17. With his seventeen total saves, Michael would be rewarded the game's 2nd Star.
Game two and three of this series will be played on February 13th and 14th with both games beginning at 7:05 pm PST. Don't miss out!
