SOLDOTNA, Alaska - The Wenatchee Wild swept a 2-game series from the Kenai River Brown Bears with a 6-1 victory Saturday night. It was the Wild's third win in a row and its 11th win in 12 games against the Brown Bears this season.

Dajon Mingo (Canton, Mich.) put the Wild up, 1-0, less than six minutes into the first period when he buried a Nathan Sliwinski (Castle Rock, Col.) pass stick side past goaltender Mike Martin. Jeff Jubinville (Edmonton, AB) also assisted. Duncan McKellar (Phoenix, Ariz.) increased Wenatchee's lead to 2-0 on an unassisted goal at the 11:42 mark. The Brown Bears cut the Wild lead in half moments later on Johan Skinnars' power-play goal, which was scored on a hard wrist shot from inside the near circle.

The Wild showcased its special teams in the second period and built up a 3-goal lead in the process. On the penalty kill, Adam McKenzie (Petaluma, Calif.) parlayed a Brown Bears turnover at the Wild blue line into a breakaway, beating Martin low and to his glove side to make it 3-1 in favor of the Wild near the midpoint of the period. On the power play, with two minutes remaining in the frame, Jubinville lit the lamp on assists by Mingo and Sliwinski.

The Wild added a pair of even strength goals in the third period for the eventual 6-1 final. Kyle Brodie (Northglenn, Col.) scored on a wrist shot from the slot at the 12:18 mark, and Mingo scored on a wrister of his own at 15:19 after splitting a pair of defenders. Jubinville and Eric Johnson (Madison, Wis.) assisted. Mingo finished the contest with two goals and an assist while Jubinville scored one goal with two assists.

Wenatchee netminder Brandon Jaeger (Champlin, Minn.) stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced, earning his 20th win of the season in the process. Wenatchee put 54 shots on Martin, 48 of which he saved. The Wild went 1-for-3 on the power play while the Brown Bears went 1-for-6.

The Wild has two days off before playing Alaska on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both games begin at 7 p.m. (AKST).
