
Wild Loses At Minot

Minot, ND. - The Wenatchee Wild played the Minot Minotauros at Maysa Arena Friday night in their next to last game of the pre-Christmas schedule, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Minotauros.
After a scoreless first period in which the Wild outshot Minot 11-7, the two teams put up goose eggs again in the second period, in which the Minotauros outshot Wenatchee 8-6.
Minot opened the scoring early in the third as Troy Degler scored from Tim Donohue and Jacob Howie at 3:19, putting the Tauros up 1-0. The Wild pressed the attack late in the period, but with the goal empty, Minot's Jake McCann scored into the vacated goal. Jake Johnson and Scott Dornbrock assisted at 19:39, sending the Minotauros to the 2-0 win.
Wenatchee outshot Minot 26-22. Gustaf Johansson (Uppsala, Sweden) made 20 saves for the Wild, Merrick Madsen had 26 stops for the Tauros. Wenatchee was 0-for-3 on the power play and 4-of-4 on the penalty kill. "We need to have a better effort tomorrow for one" said Wenatchee Wild Head Coach Bliss Littler. "Two, Minot played a very good team game, very defensive in the neutral zone and it frustrated us. We've got to have a better effort."
The Wild is now 14-13-3, Minot is 14-13-3.
