Wild Host Wildcats in End of Year Series

This weekend, Wenatchee is hosting the Wichita Falls Wildcats for a two-game series before the new year. This is the Wild's last home series of this year and they are looking to pack quite the punch heading into 2015. Tonight, the Wildcats took the final 3-2, but the Wild did have some very good points over the course of the three periods. 2,981 fans cheered on the team throughout the night and were able to witness the home team pull the final lead within only one point. After 60 minutes of play, Dakota Raabe was able to take home the 3rd Star of the Game.

There was only goal in the first period of this game and it was scored by Wichita Falls' Paul Soubry nine minutes and fifty nine seconds into the frame. Soubry had assists from Mason Corliss and Matt Koch.

To start off the second period, Tyler Rockwell scored Wenatchee's first goal of the game, on the power play, at 5:27 with help from Ivan Bondarenko and Mike Coyne. At 18:03, Colin Staub scored the Wildcats' second point of the game with the assistance of Austin Beaulieu and Matt Koch. Ending the scoring game 30 seconds before the end of the period, Konstantin Chernyuk gave Wichita Falls their third and final goal. Austin Albrecht and Nick Farmer had the final Wildcats assists.

Dakota Raabe scored the last goal of the game at the 8:27 mark of the third period. Mike Coyne and Colin Burston recorded the final points of the match with their assists on this goal.

Wenatchee went 1-1 on the power play and had a shot record of 10-12-5. Shane Bennett took the only Wild penalty of the night after being called on for holding.

Zach Quinn was in Wenatchee's goal for the night and stopped 29 shots on goal out of 32 while playing 58:44 minutes.

Coach Littler stated, "Not a good enough effort out of some of our top players. Need to compete as hard on the defensive side of the puck as the offensive side."
