Port Huron, MI. - The Wenatchee Wild played the Port Huron Fighting Falcons Sunday afternoon, dropping a hard fought 5-3 decision in NAHL action at McMorran Arena in Port Huron.

The teams swapped power play goals in the first period. Nicholas Rivera (Pacific Palisades, California) scored for the Wild, assisted by Nicklas Balboa (San Francisco, California) and River Rymsha (Huntington Woods, Michigan) assisted on the goal at 7:42, giving Wenatchee a 1-0 lead. The Fighting Falcons would tie the game at 1-1 on a goal by Logan Lambdin, with Jonathan Kopacka and Alex Archibald assisting at 19:36.

Port Huron would grab the lead with another power play goal early in the second. Vito Aluia banged home a rebound off the goal post at 1:16, assisted by Bryan Yim and Nick LeSage, putting the Falcons on top 2-1. They would make it 3-1 six minutes later, as Bryce Van Horn filed home a one-timer off a crossing pass from the left wing by Zach Badalamenti. Lambdin also assisted on the goal at 7:22, which put Port Huron on top.

In the third period, it took just 13 seconds for Van Horn to score on the power play, assisted by Badalementi and Lambdin, increasing the Fighting Falcons' lead to 4-1. The Wild would strike back not quite 3 minutes later, as Troy Loggins (Huntington Beach, California) stayed with the play, filing home his own rebound off an assist from Parker Tuomie (Biemerhaven, Germany) at 3:09, making it a 4-2 game. Matt Seidel poked home a loose puck at 13:44, off assists from Taylor Fernandez and Nick Horne, increasing the Port Huron lead to 5-2. Wenatchee would continue to work hard, with Trey Bradley (Tampa, Florida) banged home a power play goal on a goal mouth scramble. Loggins and Rymsha assisted at 18:45, but the Wild could get no closer, with the Falcons hanging on for the 5-3 win. "Well, too bad" said Wenatchee Head Coach Bliss Littler. "We played awful well for two games and came out of here with nothing. Ran into two very good goaltenders, on the other side I liked our effort level, the mistakes we made ended up in our net. But overall, we got better on the weekend."

The Wild outshot Port Huron 41-23. Mackenzie Sawyer (Landsdowne, Canada) and Chase Perry (Andover, Minnesota) split time in goal for Wenatchee, combining to make 18 saves. The Fighting Falcons' Max Milosek made 38 saves. The Wild were 2-for-4 on the power play and 2 of 5 on the penalty kill.

The Wild's record is now 5-5-0, while Port Huron is 9-2-2.

Wenatchee remains on the road for two more games, with two at the Soo on Friday and Saturday, October 18th and 19th. The Wild's next home action is against the Kenai River Brown Bears. The games on Friday and Saturday, October 25th and 26th, start at 7:05pm PDT, with the game on Sunday, October 26th, starting at 5:05pm PDT.
