WINOOSKI, VT --- Vermont Expos starting pitcher A.J. Wideman was named the New York-Penn League Pitcher of the Week for July 5-11 after going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two starts.
Wideman, who is now 3-0 with a 2.36 ERA, allowed just two hits with no walks and four strikeouts at Mahoning Valley on July 8th. He followed that up by allowing just one hit with one walk and six strikeouts in 6.0 innings against Oneonta on July 11th to get the win in Vermont's 8-2 victory over the Tigers.
