Wichita Stealth and Wranglers Team Up for Yearwood Fund

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth in conjunction with the Wichita Wranglers, Double-A affiliate for the Kansas City Royals, announced today that the fund raiser held last night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, Kansas was a huge success. Fans in attendance at the minor league baseball game donated $3,029, which will go to the Bakersfield Blitz in care of Julian Yearwood Jr. Memorial Fund.

"The community of Wichita stepped up to the plate and helped out in a big way in this time of tragedy," said Deuane Howard, Stealth Director of Media Relations. "We applaud the fans for the generosity and compassion they have shown the Bakersfield Blitz organization and the family of Julian Yearwood."

The Stealth would like to thank the Wichita Wranglers, Steven Motor Group, Papa John's Pizza, and Pepsi for their help in this fundraiser.

Fans may still send donations to the Bakersfield Blitz office located at 4600 Ashe Road, Bakersfield, CA 93313. Donations through credit cards will also be accepted over the phone at (661) 634-9132.

STEALTH NOTES: Fans who attended Saturday night's game versus Bakersfield will be able to exchange their ticket for admission to this weekends game...Tickets are still available by calling the Stealth office at 316.755.3307...Saturday night is also Kansas State Catbackers night. Catbackers can get discount tickets by calling the Stealth office.
