Wichita/Fort Worth Conference Semifinals Series Set

GLENDALE, AZ (April 10, 2013) - The CHL's Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Conference Semifinals begin tonight with the series that has been determined as the Wichita Thunder and the Fort Worth Brahmas go head-to-head in Game 1 of their best-of-7 series. The other half of the semifinals will be determined in the next 36 hours as Missouri and Rapid City are battling to advance with the winner poised to face the Bud Poile Governors' Cup Champion Allen Americans. The Mavericks currently lead the best-of-7 series three games to two with Game 6 scheduled for tonight in Rapid City and Game 7, if necessary, slated for Thursday night in South Dakota.
The Thunder and Brahmas will meet as two of the four remaining teams in the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Last year, Wichita won in six games advancing to the CHL Finals where they ultimately fell to Fort Wayne.
The Thunder advanced to the semifinals this year after sweeping the Arizona Sundogs in the Opening Round and are the most rested team having played last on April 2. The Brahmas needed five games to advance past the Quad City Mallards four games to one. The Thunder won five of the eight regular season meetings between the two clubs.
The two rivals will open their Conference Semifinals series tonight (Wednesday, April 10) at the INTRUST Bank Arena.
