Wichita Drops to 5-1 at Home

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth ran into a red-hot Tulsa team and were unable to recover from a scoreless first quarter on their way to their first home loss of the 2004 season, 62-34 at the hands of the Talons in front of 3,074 fans at the Kansas Coliseum. Baby Ruth Real Deal Player of the Game Bob Bees led the Talons. Bees was 22-of-29 for 250 yards and eight touchdowns. The Stealth drop to 7-4 on the season and into second place in the Southwest Division

The Talons jumped out to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter. The Talons scored on a 29-yard pass from Bob Bees to Bjorn Barre to give them a 7-0 lead with 11:00 left in the first quarter. The Talons would only two more plays to extend their lead to 14-0 when Bees found Shan Jordan for an 11-yard touchdown.

The Stealth didn't get their first score of the night until the 6:10 mark of the second quarter when Jonathan Beasley found Damon Thompson for a 40-yard touchdown to close the lead to 21-7. Thompson ended the night with five catches for 109 yards and three touchdowns.

The telling moments of tonight's game were the offensive production by the Stealth in the first and third quarters. The Stealth could only manage a combined seven points and 52 total yards in those two quarters. The Talons outscored the Stealth 36-7 in those two quarters.

For the Stealth, quarterback Jonathan Beasley was 16-of-44 for 223 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, the Stealth were led by Ty Ardoin who finished the night with five and a half tackles, one forced fumble, and one pass defense.

The U.S. Army Ironman of the Game was Shan Jordan of the Tulsa Talons. Jordan finished the night with seven catches for 89 yards and three touchdowns. The ADT Defensive Player of the Game was Anton Ceaser.
