Manchester Wolves News Release

MANCHESTER, N.H. (June 19, 2004) - The Manchester Wolves (arenafootball2) announced today that the team has made a head coaching change, promoting Wolves' assistant coach Ron Hill to interim head coach.

"Coach Hill has done a very good job handling the offense for us this year and I think our team can only benefit from him increasing his role as head coach," Wolves Managing Partner Steve Schubert said. "I believe he has the skill and experience to help our team refocus and finish the season strong."

Hill's appointment gives the Wolves a veteran coach with a lengthy coaching resume that spans more than 19 years. Prior to his arrival in Manchester this spring, Hill spent four years (2000-2003) with the Norfolk Nighthawks af2 franchise as the team's Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach. His coaching history also includes positions with the Bay Neptunes (Head Coach), semi-pro Tidewater Sharks (Head Coach, 1991-92) and at Booker T. Washington and Norfolk State University.

"We promised our fans a quality year of professional football and this move will further improve on the exciting action we've delivered to date," Schubert added.

The Wolves are currently 4-7 overall and have lost three straight games, including Friday night's 55-54 heartbreaking home defeat against the Memphis Xplorers.

On behalf of the organization, I want to thank Rik Richards for his efforts this year," Wolves General Manager Angelo Mazzella said. "At this time, however, we need to change our course. Our goal is to put a winning team on the football field and feel this move is in the best interest of the team and our fans."
