Wichita B-52s Win over Tulsa and Advance to Quarterfinal of US Open Cup
January 27, 2014 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Wichita B-52s News Release
The B-52s brought home a hard-earned 10-9 win from Tulsa on Saturday. KJ Jackson's late winner helped advance Wichita to the quarterfinals of the US Open Arena Soccer Championships. In a game that saw the lead change 4 times and 10 goals in the fourth quarter, there was a moment where Wichita was on the back foot. With 19 seconds left, Jackson crashed the net on an open ball created by Chang, and buried it into the top corner. The last goal of the night was Jackson's fourth of the game, who joined Clare in collecting a hat-trick. Hobson, Chang, and Lawter also grabbed important goals for Wichita. Jason Dewey's big hands helped keep the B-52s in the game, including some strong improvisation when a time-out call was overlooked by officials while being pressed by a Tulsa attacker. The B-52s move to 6 and 6 in the league, 7 and 6 overall. Clare received a red card in the fourth quarter and will have to sit out for the Chicago game this weekend.
