Harlingen, Texas will be the site for tomorrow night's opening day where longtime rival San Angelo Colts faceoff against your Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings, first pitch is at 7:05, the ceremonial first pitch will be throw out by Robert Leftwich.
This will be the first of four games versus San Angelo here at home, then the Wings take their first road trip to face the Alexandria Aces on May 28thfor a four game set.
Starting June 1st your Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings begin their 12 game home stand versus the Texas Thunder, Alexandria Aces and cross valley rival the Edinburg Roadrunners.
The Wings will be guided by new field manager Chris Patterson who brings great energy and experience to the club, Patterson will be aided by Nate Ramsey his assistant manager both are very pleased and excited for the upcoming season.
New Skipper, Chris Paterson brings experience to your Wings, having played ball professionally overseas and has also managed a number of clubs over his career along with winning manager of the year honors twice. Nate Ramsey, a South Carolina native attended Bluefield St. University where he received a degree in social science. Ramsey like his skipper Paterson brings a new feel and experience to this young club.
Your Wings will open up their 2013 season with young talent, USC Alumni Johnny Bowden brings stout defense behind the plate, as Slugger Albert Carpen will play the outfield, along with hard hitting Long Island native Danny Pembroke. Pembroke will fill the D.H roll along with playing first base along with Justin Juneau who also brings power from the left side of the plate. Tomorrow's starter will be hard throwing Antony Bello who is a Miami, Florida native, Bello was drafted in the 2006 June Amateur Draft in the 21st round by the Houston Astros.
