
WhiteWings Battle 4 Blood

Harlingen - The Harlingen WhiteWings will be out for blood when they join forces with KGBT TV 4 in the Annual Battle 4 Blood at the Valle Vista Mall in Harlingen on Saturday, January 19.
KGBT TV 4 and United Blood Services will accept blood donations at the Valle Vista Mall, McAllen's LaPlaza Mall, and Brownsville's Sunrise Mall on Saturday from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Fans visiting Mervin's Court at Harlingen's Valle Vista Mall can meet Wild Thing, the WhiteWings official mascot, along with KGBT TV 4 personalities, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm on Saturday. At the same time, everyone donating to the much needed Rio Grande Valley blood supply throughout the weekend will receive four tickets to any WhiteWings 2008 regular season contest. The event continues in all three locations on Sunday from 12 noon to 5:00 pm.
"The WhiteWings are really looking forward to being a part of the Battle 4 Blood," said WhiteWings General Manager Dave Kost. "This is an important cause that potentially could affect each and every one of us and we are thrilled to do anything we can to make this a successful effort."
The Harlingen WhiteWings Baseball Club is a member of United League Baseball, an Independent League of six professional baseball teams located in Texas and Louisiana. The United League is preparing for its third season in 2008 with teams located in Amarillo, Edinburg, Laredo, Harlingen, and San Angelo, Texas; and Alexandria, Louisiana.
