West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps today unveiled their newly redesigned website, which offers an abundance of information on the team, Minor League Baseball, upcoming ballpark events and promotions, social media, multimedia, and much more.
The new redesign is the fourth generation of the Whitecaps website, which made its debut 13 years ago. The web address remains www.whitecapsbaseball.com, with no need for fans to update their address books (although fans may need to clear their cookies from their web browsers to view the new site). While the ticket purchasing system and online merchandise store remain the same, the look of the rest of the website is radically different.
The website is the result of a partnership with Minor League Baseball, which both hosts the new site and provides content feeds such as Minor League news, feature stories, team standings and stats, and easy access links to other Minor League teams as well as Major League teams.
Whitecaps CEO and Managing Partner Lew Chamberlin said the new partnership goes beyond site content.
"It strengthens our relationship with Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball, and gives us more access to baseball information than we've ever had before...information that we feel our clients and fans are interested in," Chamberlin said. "It also gives us the opportunity to tap into national advertising markets that we could never reach with our localized website."
The Whitecaps' popular online newsletter, "The Breaker," will continue to be a great source of information for fans. Signing up for "The Breaker" as well as following the Whitecaps on Facebook and Twitter and joining the team's Text Club are all easy to do right from the Whitecaps' home page.
Chamberlin sees the social networking aspect as important tools for fans.
"By taking advantage of these social networking blasts, fans can ensure that they are getting the most up-to-date information on the Whitecaps, in terms of breaking news, ticket specials, upcoming promotions, and more."
The site also makes it easier to purchase tickets from the schedule page, with an embedded ticket button on every home game date on the schedule.
The new website is now live and is located at www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
