Whitecaps FC Acquire Canadian Midfielder Ralph Priso from Colorado Rapids
March 12, 2024 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release
VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Tuesday that the club has acquired Canadian midfielder Ralph Priso from Colorado Rapids in exchange for up to $150,000 in conditional 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM), as well as the later of Vancouver's current two first-round selections, and their natural third-round selection, in the MLS SuperDraft 2025. The later first-round pick will be either Vancouver or LAFC's natural selection.
If Priso is loaned or transferred outside of MLS, Colorado will retain a percentage of the fee. If Priso is loaned or traded within MLS in 2024, Colorado will receive conditional GAM as part of the deal.
"We are pleased to welcome Ralph to Vancouver," said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director. "Already at his young age, Ralph has a lot of experience during his time with Colorado and Toronto. We will look forward to helping him continue his development, as he will bring additional competition to our midfield group."

"I'm excited to be here in Vancouver and play for this historic club," added Priso. "This is a great step in my career. I'm looking forward to learning, getting to know my team members, and helping the club in any way I can while being back on home soil."
Priso, 21, started 17 of his 36 appearances and added three assists across all competitions for the Rapids since joining the side via trade from Toronto FC in July 2022.
During his time with Toronto FC, Priso made 17 starts, 33 appearances, and registered two goals and two assists across all competitions after signing a Homegrown contract in October 2020. Priso was also part of the side that won the 2020 edition of the Canadian Championship.
A product of Toronto FC's Academy, Priso signed his first professional contract in March 2019 with Toronto FC II. The midfielder made five appearances for the side during the 2019 USL One regular season. Priso also played for Toronto FC III during the 2018 League 1 Ontario season, where he made six appearances and scored one goal. He originally joined Toronto FC's Academy in January 2017.
In his youth, Priso represented Canada at the U-17 level, starting all six of his appearances. The midfielder was a member of Canada's squad at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, where he started all three games in the group stage and added an assist.
