Bristol White Sox News Release

Bristol, Va - The Bristol White Sox used a four-pitch bases-loaded walk for a walk-off win against the Princeton Rays. Jose Barraza took four straight pitches from Rays hurler Jonathan Weaver to give the White Sox the 13-12 win over the Rays.

The Rays took an early 11-8 lead after six innings of play. The White Sox battled back, scoring five runs in three innings. The White Sox used a double by Eric Grabe and a triple by Juan Ramirez to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Grabe also followed up with a RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to pull within one run of tying the ballgame at 12 apiece. Coming down to the final three outs of the game, the Sox bats came alive. The crowd added an extra aspect to what was an already tight game. Courtney Hawkins knocked in the first run of the inning on a force out at second, then Barraza's four-pitch walk sealed the comeback for the Sox.

Mitch Mustain picked up his first professional win for the Sox, who ended their eight game skid. Weaver picked up the loss and blown save for the Rays.

The 3-9 Sox will be back in action July 1 against the Johnson City Cardinals.
