June 12, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Orlando Predators News Release
Orlando, Fla. (June 12, 2007) - After being named "Defensive Player of the Game" for his efforts against New York last week, the Arena Football League added to GREG WHITE's honors' resume by naming him the AFL's "ADT DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK."
White had a huge game against the Dragons, recording two tackles-for-loss, a quarterback sack, a forced fumble, and a blocked field goal during the Predators 75-54 win. The victory clinched a playoff spot for the Predators.
For the season, White had already shattered the single season record for quarterback sacks, recording 15 in just 12 games played. He will have two more regular season games to add to the record, which was formally held by Los Angeles Avengers lineman Silas Demary, who recorded 13.5 sacks in 2005.
In addition to his 15 sacks this season, White has also already recorded 10 quarterback hurries, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, a blocked kick and two pass defenses this year and is a leading candidate for defensive player of the year honors.
It was the second time White has been honored as Defensive Player of the Week. He was also named Defensive Player of the Month for May.
