Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON)- Petes fan Jason Wickman has been named the winner of the 2nd annual 'Where in the World are Petes Fans' summer photo contest. Jason has earned a one-night hotel stay in Toronto and a trip for four to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Wickman's photo, taken in Niagara Falls and featuring a 2014 Petes playoff t-shirt - as well as Peterborough Huskies and Toronto Maple Leafs apparel - was crowned champion of the contest after a heated fan vote on Facebook this week.
The winning photo, which was submitted to the Petes on Twitter in mid-August, received just twelve more votes than the runner-up, a photo of a Petes fan sand-surfing in Huacachina, Peru. In all, over 50 photos were submitted during this year's contested.
On the ice, the Petes pre-season continues at home against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Thursday, September 17 at 7:05pm. Tickets are available here for Monday's game, or by calling (705) 743-3561. In addition, all Petes pre-season games will be broadcast live on the PetesOHLhockey YouTube channel.
