San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas---The Colts announced the signing of two pitchers on Monday, as they prepare for the longest road trip of the season, which is not only for 12 days, but a total of 15 games that includes three double-headers. San Angelo has signed a pair of righties in Sean Keeler and Josh Giles. They also made two other moves to make room on the roster.

Right-hander Sean Keeler, who began the season in the Can-Am League, comes to San Angelo via the Pecos League playing with the Las Cruces Vaqueros. While with Las Cruces he was a teammate with another member of the Colts pitching staff in, Kyle Boggio. Sean played his college ball at Siena College (NH), Hutchinson Community College (KS), and Franklin Pierce University (NY) and was a college summer league All-Star for the NACBL. While at Franklin Pierce, the New York native was a teammate of another member of the Colts pitching staff in Andrew Wells. Ironically the signing of Keeler forced the Colts to make a move with Wells. Keeler began his pro career in 2010 with the Washington (Frontier) pitching in eight games for the Wild Things last season.

The Colts also signed righty Josh Giles, who is in his seventh year as a pro. Giles, originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Rangers in 2005, spent three seasons (2005-2008) in their system making it as high as Advanced A in the California League. From 2009-10, he spent most of his time in the Northern League with Schaumburg and Fargo, as well as a brief stop in the American Association with Lincoln. Josh began the 2011 season with the Chico Outlaws.

To counter the two signings, San Angelo has put Colts Captain Jason Crosland on the inactive list, who has been suffering with a knee injury. The Colts also inactivated righty Andrew Wells, who has been used both out of the bullpen and as a starter. Andrew was acquired recently in a trade with the WhiteWings.
