Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Brandon, Manitoba -- With only three games remaining until their Christmas break, including two at Westman Communications Group Place, the Brandon Wheat Kings would like to remind their 2007-08 Season Ticket holders that their first Rain Check game of the year comes up Wednesday night when the Kelowna Rockets pay their one and only visit of the campaign.

Winners of seven straight games, the Eastern Division leading Wheat Kings will host Saskatoon on Friday night, before bringing the curtain down on their pre-Christmas schedule on Saturday night in Prince Albert.

This Wednesday night's game will provide Season Ticket holders with their first of two opportunities this season to exchange unused tickets at the Keystone Centre box office for a complimentary ticket.

The Wheat Kings' second Rain Check game in March will be for those unused tickets dated December 14th - March 8th, which means unused tickets for the first 16 home games MUST BE used this Wednesday night.

The WHL club sold a franchise record 2,753 season tickets this season and through the first sixteen home games, the Wheat Kings are currently averaging just under 4,000 fans per home game. A total of 4,639 fans turned out this past Friday to see the Wheat Kings blank the visiting Blades 4-0.

In other off-ice news, the hockey club's Alumni continues to sell tickets to this Thursday's "Christmas Breakfast with the Wheat Kings", to be held at the Canad Inns Brandon from 7-8:30 a.m. Tickets are on sale at the Wheat Kings' office, the front desk at the Canad Inns as well as any of the Alumni Executive which includes President Ken Schneider, Alex Argyriou, Greg Phillips, Mark Kolesar, Wayne Wilhelm and Kelly McCrimmon.

Meanwhile this Friday night's game against Saskatoon features the annual Shoppers Mall Teddy Bear Toss. Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to the game and toss to the ice below when the Wheat Kings score their first goal. All stuffed animals collected will be donated to the local Christmas Cheer Registry.

Tickets to either game this week are on sale now at the Keystone box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca.
