Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Off the ice, it's a special day for the Brandon Wheat Kings and their fans. On the ice, it's another measuring-stick type contest against one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
The Wheat Kings welcome the Saskatoon Blades to the Keystone Centre for the first time this season. The Blades come into the game as one of the top teams in the East, 8-3 entering play on Friday night. Meanwhile, the Wheat Kings will come in fresh off a 4-3 win over another talented East Division foe, the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Beating the Blades won't be easy. But the Wheat Kings big guns have been firing all cylinders lately. Nate Danielson is coming off back-to-back two-point games, and Brett Hyland has scored twice in a row in each of the last two contests. Roger McQueen and Caleb Hadland also turned in two-point efforts against the Warriors.
Saturday night, the Wheat Kings will also celebrate Willie's Birthday! Young fans have a chance to get all the candy without any of the snow as they take part in indoor trick-or-treating on the Keystone Centre concourse. They also have face painting stations set up for them.
Kids should come in their best Halloween costumes, as the Wheat Kings host a costume contest throughout the game. And make sure you stick around during the intermissions. Not only is there a Mascot Party happening so Willie can celebrate with all his friends, there will also be a mascot soccer game!
