NEWS & NOTES:

Last Game: The Regina Pats swept the two game set versus the Brandon Wheat Kings last weekend. It started with the Pats stealing one inside a packed Westoba Place with the Wheat Kings putting 47 shots on Drew Sim only for him to surrender 3 goals. Connor Bedard would score the game winning goal with only 1:55 remaining in the 3rd period allowing the Pats to win 4-3 in hostile territory. The following night the Wheat Kings lost 6-3 in Regina. It was a game the Wheat Kings controlled for most of it heading into the 2nd period with a 3-1 lead, but penalty trouble gave the Pats life scoring a pair in the 2nd period and then adding a late 2nd period goal from Alexander Suzdalev giving the Pats a 4-3 lead after 40. Alex Suzdalev would put the game to bed scoring his first career hat trick and Connor Bedard would add the empty net goal giving the Pats a 6-3 win.

March 1st VS Warriors : The Wheat Kings and Warriors meet for the 6th time this season. The Warriors lead the season series 3-2 after the Wheat Kings had an early 2-0 lead up to December 31st. Last time these two clubs met was back on January 27th, it was a 5-1 victory for the Warriors. In that specific game it was the Wheat Kings who got off to a hot start with Calder Anderson getting on the board 83 seconds into the game but the Warriors took over the remainder of the way scoring 5 unanswered. Ryder Korczak & Harper Lolacher led the way each with a pair of goals. The Warriors have outsourced 15-6 in the last 3 games combined. Ryder Korczak has been the difference in those games with 4 goals and an assist. Korczak was Jagger Firkus has 4 goals and 6 assists in those 3 games. Nolan Ritchie has been the impact player for the Wheat Kings in the season series scoring 8 points in 5 games versus the Warriors.

Silver Medal Sask: Team Saskatchewan came close but fell in double overtime over Team Ontario in the Canada Winter Games Gold Medal Game in Prince Edward Island last Saturday. Leading the way is Wheat Kings Top Prospect Joby Baumuller with 5 goals and 5 assists in 6 games played. Baumuller led Team Saskatchewan to a perfect 4-0 in the preliminary round and he scored a pair of goals in Friday night's semi-final against Team Quebec in a 4-3 win. Wheat Kings prospects participating include Joby Baumuller & Emerson Clark (Team Saskatchewan), Easton Odut (Team Manitoba) then Gradey Hope & Ryder Green (Team British Columbia).

Who's Hot: Brett Hyland currently has 19 goals scored in his last 21 games. Forward Nate Danielson has been stellar as of late scoring 11 points in his last 8 games. Danielson is also on a 8 game point streak.. Nolan Ritchie has 45 points in his last 35 games.
