Hamilton, ON - The Toronto Rock (11-3) return home tonight to face the Halifax Thunderbirds (8-6) at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton. In eight all-time meetings since the Thunderbirds franchise relocated to Halifax, the Rock are an even 4-4 overall but are 3-1 at home.
Fans can watch the game vs. Halifax at 7:00pm ET on TSN's digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+. To stream the game, you need a TSN+ subscription.
Here's a look at Toronto's playoff clinching scenarios entering tonight:
Toronto can clinch a home playoff game with a WIN vs Halifax on Saturday AND ONE of the following to happen:
ONE Saskatchewan loss this weekend either At New York on Saturday OR At Georgia on Sunday
Rochester loss at Colorado on Saturday
Here's what to watch for in Saturday's matchup.
Following this morning's shoot around, the Rock moved Josh Jubenville and Phil Mazzuca to the Active Roster from the Injured Reserve List. Marley Angus and Alex Kew have been placed on the Practice Roster.
Nick Rose can move into 3rd place in all-time NLL victories with a win tonight passing Bob Watson. Last week, Rose (6326) passed Watson (6316) for top spot in all-time Rock saves.
With 79 points, Mark Matthews is in the top 10 in NLL scoring and is poised to race up the league scoring leaders with another big game tonight. In four career games against Halifax, Matthews has scored 20 points (4G, 16A).
Another player who has enjoyed a lot of success against Halifax is Dan Craig. The 'Iceman' has 36 points in 7 games vs. the Thunderbirds. Craig has just one goal in his last two games, tonight's opponent might be just what the veteran shooter needs to start filling the net.
INJURY REPORT: Challen Rogers (UBI) remains on the IR and is out for tonight's game. Latrell Harris, Tyler Hendrycks, and Chase Schiavon all remain on the PUP List. Additionally, Justin Martin and Chris Weier are both questionable for the game.
Next weekend, the Rock have a bye week. Following that, the Rock will travel to Albany to face the FireWolves on Saturday, April 6 at MVP Arena.
