
Wey is Second Fourth Round Pick

Waterloo, Iowa-Patrick Wey was the second Waterloo Black Hawk player selected during the NHL Draft in Montreal Saturday.
The Washington Capitals took Wey 115th overall with the 24th pick choice in the fourth round. Black Hawk forward Craig Smith was taken 17 picks earlier.
Wey was the most highly regarded member of the 2008-2009 Black Hawks on the NHL Central Scouting pre-draft rankings, placing 95th among North American skaters. The Pittsburgh native was a Black Hawk for two seasons, appearing in 93 regular season games with eight goals, 32 assists, and a +16 rating. In January, he represented the Hawks at the USHL All-Star game in Sioux Falls. Wey will begin his freshman season at Boston College this fall.
The last Black Hawk selected by Washington was also a defenseman; Andrew Thomas was taken by Washington in 2005.
