
Westfall Named Assistant Coach

WAYNE, N.J. - New Jersey Outlaws Team President Chris Firriolo has named Tom Westfall to his staff as an Assistant Coach,
The Outlaws will begin Federal League play in October at the Capital One Ice Vault.
Westfall, originally fromàMeadville, Pa, was the Captain of the first-ever back-to-back Pennsylvania AAAàHigh School State Championship team, the Meadville Bulldogs. Following two state titles, Westfall played two seasons for the Smith Falls Bears Junior ¬ËA' Hockey Club of the CJHL where he won a Western Division Title.
Westfall played his collegiate hockey at Penn State University andÃÂ was the Captain of the 1999 ACHA National Championship team. Following graduation with a major in Economics and a minor in Marketing, Westfall signed a contract with the El Paso Buzzards (AA) of the WPHL (now CHL) and played in over 150 professional games including seasons with the New England Stars (NEHL) and Hudson Valley Bears (EPHL).
Westfall has had a huge influence in the development of Single ¬ËA' professional hockey in the northeast and his presence as a member of the Outlaws Hockey Operations staff will be invaluable to the day-to-day operations.
"I have played and coached in a lot of professional minor league hockey organizations in my life," said Westfall. "The Outlaws' organization is as committed as I have seen in my career, from its ownership down, to providing a great evening of entertainment while developing some of the top young professional prospects around.
"I am excited to work with Team President Chris Firriolo and General Manager Rich Lisk and the rest of the Outlaws' staff as we prepare for an exciting season."
When asked about the addition, Firriolo commented, "Tom is going to be a great asset to the Outlaws' organization, especially when it comes to recruiting and player advancement. Tom has a tremendous passion for the game as well as a strong commitment to developing the younger players and helping them climb the ladder in the pro hockey world.
"More importantly he has strong ties to the New Jersey market and will play a vital role in helping us build a great tradition here within our community."
