West Texas Roughnecks Launch Youth Football League Beginning in September

MIDLAND, TX. : The West Texas Roughnecks have announced on Friday, August 13 that the organization has officially launched the West Texas Roughnecks Youth Football League, also titled the "RYFL", beginning this fall. The West Texas Roughnecks Youth Football League is open to the Permian Basin community with games to be played in Odessa. The RYFL is open to children from third to sixth grade, however only third grade teams will be playing flag football games.
"We feel that entering our eighth year as a professional indoor football organization that we want to continue developing our off-season community involvement. We believe our league can teach all players the facets of the game especially sportsmanship and fundamentals. We are excited about this youth football league and we are hoping to have many participants this fall." stated West Texas Roughnecks Head Coach Chris Williams.
Registration and weight-ins for the youth football league will take place from the Ector County Coliseum on Saturday, August 28 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and running until 6:00 p.m. Practices are set to begin on Tuesday, September 2 with the first set of games scheduled for Saturday, September 18. Teams will be formed based on address locations and further information on specific locations for games & league participation fees will be announced at a later time.
In addition, Roughnecks players and Head Coach Chris Williams will be involved with the league throughout the season to help players develop their skills and fundamentals for the game.
