Wenatchee Wild News Release
Taking the road for their last away trip of the year, the Wild have found themselves in Amarillo, Texas taking on the Bulls for a two game series. In front of 2,475 fans, the home team would walk off the ice with a 3-2 final. Wenatchee has begun their preparations for the post season, and they have most certainly ramped up their fighting spirit. Coach Littler stated, "We had our chances to put them away in the second period but failed to capitalize on some golden chances. Give the Bulls the credit for taking advantage of our mistakes in the third."
Stevie Bryant scored the lone goal of the first period and gave the Wild an early lead fourteen minutes and fifty seven seconds into the frame. The first assists in this game came from Troy Conzo and Ryan Gotelaere.
Going up 2-0 four minutes into the middle period, August Von Ungern-Sternberg gave the Wild their second and final goal of the night when he was fed the puck by Colin Burston. Amarillo responded with their first goal eleven minutes later when Kyle Hartman found the back of the Wild's net with the help of Cody Gylling and Elijah Barriga.
Moving into the final period, Gylling made this match a tie game with his power play point nine minutes into the frame. Cody had assistance from Luke Novak and Jesper Synnelius. Tristan Rostagno scored Amarillo's game winner less than a minute later. This extra attacker point was assisted by Will Harrison and AJ Duggan.
Wenatchee ended the night with 36 total shots on goal and 5 infractions. Penalties were dealt to Logan Fauber (Hooking) (Kneeing), Andre Pison (Roughing), and Michael Bullion (Unsportsmanlike Conduct) (Abuse of Officials (Misconduct)).
Michael Bullion and Zach Quinn tended the net for the Wild during this game. Bullion played for the first 50:12 minutes and was able to save 23 shots on goal out of 26. Quinn saw the remaining 8:58 minutes and stopped 2 out of 2 shots on net.
The Wild will return to the Amarillo Civic Center for the final game of this series tomorrow, March 14th. The puck will drop at 7:05 pm CST. After this series, only two more regular season weekends remain. Wenatchee will host Lone Star for two games spanning March 20th-21st and they will end the season hosting the Topeka Roadrunners for a three game weekend taking place March 27th, 28th, and 29th.
