ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter the 12th week of the 2005-2006 with a 23-9-0-1 record (14-1-0-0 at home, 9-8-0-1 on the road, 1-0 in overtime, 1-1 in shootout) and in first place in both the BC DIVISION and the entire WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE...The ICE will play three of their next five games at home before breaking for the Christmas Holidays (December 18-26).
KOOTENAY ICE CALENDARS: CRANBROOK PHOTO and the KOOTENAY ICE have teamed up to create a 2006 KOOTENAY ICE Calendar...Calendars will be sold in the lobby of the Rec Plex on December 6 and 13...Calendars are $20.00 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the KOOTENAY ICE PLAYERS EDUCATION FUND...The first 100 calendars sold will also include a $10.00 gift certificate from HUSKY / MOHAWK.
CRANBROOK DODGE NIGHT: When the ICE host the SEATTLE THUNDERBIRDS on Tuesday, December 13, CRANBROOK DODGE will be on hand as the game night sponsor... Watch in the second intermission as they slingshot prizes into the crowd.
SAFEWAY TURKEY BOWLING / FOOD BANK NIGHT: When the ICE host SPOKANE on Saturday, December 17, SAFEWAY will be accepting donations of non-perishable items in the lobby of the REC PLEX for the CRANBROOK and KIMBERLEY FOOD BANKS ...Enter at SAFEWAY for your chance to participate during the second intermission in SAFEWAY TURKEY BOWLING.
DID YOU KNOW: The KOOTENAY ICE, who have played the most games in the WHL, have scored the second most goals in the League with 114 (MOOSE JAW leads with 120 goals for) and have allowed the fourth fewest goals with 76 (CALGARY leads with 56 goals against)...TAYLOR DAKERS is first overall in the WHL in both Goals Against Average (1.46) and Save Percentage (.941)...MIKE BUSTO is second overall in the League in plus minus (+18) and is third in scoring by Defensemen with 25 points...RYAN RUSSELL is third in the WHL in overall scoring with 40 points and fifth in goals scored with 18...ADAM CRACKNELL is tied for third in the WHL in shorthanded goals (three), sixth in overall scoring with 36 points and tied for sixth in goals scored with 17.
SCORING STREAKS: RYAN RUSSELL (2-2-4 in span) and DALE MAHOVSKY (0-3-3 in span) have both recorded at least one point in each of their last three games.
ONE YEAR AGO: After 33 games of the 2004-2005 season the ICE were 20-10-3-0 and after 34 games 20-11-3-0.
