ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter the 20th week of the 2003-2004 season with a 25-21-4-3 record (14-10-2-1 at home, 11-11-2-2 on the road, 4-0-4-3 in overtime) and tied for second place in the BC DIVISION with VANCOUVER...KOOTENAY will play their next two games on the road, before returning to the CRANBROOK REC PLEX for four straight home games (February 7 â 14).
BC HYDRO HOCKEY CARD NIGHT: When KOOTENAY hosts the KAMLOOPS BLAZERS on Sunday, February 8, it will be the second annual BC HYDRO HOCKEY CARD NIGHT...Fans in attendance will receive a set of KOOTENAY ICE 2003-2004 Hockey Cards compliments of BC HYDRO.
UGLY BLAZER NIGHT: When the ICE host KAMLOOPS on February 8, it will be UGLY BLAZER night...Fans in attendance wearing their ugliest blazer will have the chance to win a suit from SWANSON'S MENS WEAR (valued at $350.00) or a $100 Gift Certificate from WINNERS.
DID YOU KNOW: The ICE, who are .500 on the road this year, have recorded a .500 or better for the last four years (1999-2000 to 2002-2003)...NIGEL DAWES recorded his 100th career WHL goal January 31 in VANCOUVER...With 101 goals, DAWES is second in career goals with the KOOTENAY franchise (JARRET STOLL has 124)...DAWES is second in the WHL with 39 goals and is sixth in power play goals with 14...DAWES needs 11 goals to set the franchise record for goals scoring during a single regular season (JAY HENDERSON recorded 49 goals in 1997-1998)...JEFF GLASS, who recorded his sixth career shutout January 31 versus the GIANTS, is third in career games played with the KOOTENAY franchise (75), second in wins (34) and fourth in career minutes played with 4,134...GLASS is sixth in the Leagues in wins (19), ninth in Goals Against Average (2.59) and 16th in Save Percentage (.905)...DALE MAHOVSKY needs three points to reach 100 in his WHL career...JOSH MORROW needs seven points to reach 100 in his WHL career.
ONE YEAR AGO: After 53 games of the 2002-2003 season the ICE were 26-17-6-4, after 54 games 26-18-6-4 and after 55 games 27-18-6-4.
