ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter the 18th week of the 2003-2004 season with a 21-20-3-3 record (13-9-1-1 at home, 8-11-2-2 on the road, 4-0-3-3 in overtime) and in fourth place in the BC DIVISION...KOOTENAY will play three of their next four games at the CRANBROOK RECREATION COMPLEX.
DID YOU KNOW: NIGEL DAWES needs three goals to reach 100 in his WHL career...With 97 goals, DAWES has moved into second place in all-time career goals scored with the ICE (record is 124 held by JARRET STOLL)...DAWES is fourth in career points with the KOOTENAY franchise with 173 (STOLL has 286, MIKE GREEN has 215, JASON JAFFRAY has 186)...Despite missing 15 games due to his participation in the WORLD JUNIOR tournament and an early season injury, DAWES is tied for the second in the WHL in goals with 35 (tied with SETH LEONARD of the PRINCE ALBERT RAIDERS)...JEFF GLASS is fourth in all-time games played with the KOOTENAY franchise (70) and is fifth in minutes played with 3,830...ADAM TAYLOR, who has played in 227 career WHL games (including a franchise record 192 straight regular season games), needs to play in six more games to move into fifth place for all-time career games played with the KOOTENAY franchise...TAYLOR needs nine goals to reach 50 in his WHL career...DALE MAHOVSKY need ten points to reach 100 in his WHL career...DEREK PRICE played in his 100th career WHL game January 18 versus CALGARY.
SCORING STREAKS: NIGEL DAWES has recorded at least one point in each of the last six games he has played in (11-3-14 in span)...ADAM CRACKNELL (2-5-7 in span) and MARTIN SAGAT (1-6-7 in span) have each recorded at least point in each of their last five games.
ONE YEAR AGO: After 47 games of the 2002-2003 season the ICE were 23-15-6-3, after 48 games 24-15-6-3 and after 49 games 24-16-6-3.
